2015 was a huge year for UK pioneer electronic trio, Dan Stephens, Joe Ray and vocalist Alana Watson, known to us as Nero. After a hiatus from making music, the group released their sophomore album, Between II Worlds, to great fan excitement and critical acclaim.
After the album's first few singles – "Two Minds," "Satisfy," and the title track – were remixed, the group's next single, "Into The Night" now gets its chance for the spotlight. The track will be released as an impressive 7-track remix EP, due out tomorrow vie Cherrytree Records.
The EP features big names from the newer house music generation – Amtrac, ATTLAS, and among others, an appearance from Nero themselves to remix the track. We have a first listen to one of the remixes from the EP, done by Liverpool's Friend Within. After having a massive 2015, where he released music on Dirtybird Records, Pets, Friend Within has moved way beyond his notoriety from collaborating with Disclosure on "The Mechanism." His work on "Into The Night" is club-ready with four to the floor beats, and a vibrating, alluring and incessant bassline.
