It's official: coming back to work/school after the holidays is perhaps the most depressing thing since Biggie's "Suicidal Thoughts." As you spend the next few days refreshing your Facebook feed, you're reminded of the carefree days when it was socially acceptable to stuff your face with good eats and take endless naps. The dream might be over, but that doesn't mean you still can't have a good time. If you're looking to let loose before the weekend, you'll dig the latest from Mitchell Lawler and Conch. Their latest effort, "Open and Close" is a carefree, tongue-in-cheek gem filled with big horns and even bigger rhymes. Although the verses from these two Edmontonians are nice, it's the honey-like hook paired with the Saturday morning cartoon-esque production that'll stick in your head for days to come. Mitch and Conch have not confirmed anything for the year, but I'm confident that they'll come through with some cool tracks in the near future.
