In the months leading up to the latest James Bond film, Spectre, there were rumors that the theme song would come courtesy of Radiohead. Unfortunately this never came to be, as the ever-coveted honor ended up going to Sam Smith. This didn't stop Thom Yorke from giving the world a little Christmas gift, though, as he's confirmed the existence of the band's song "Spectre," and made it available for free to boot.
It's a shame that this song didn't see the silver screen; it's a perfect James Bond theme, and a great Radiohead ballad as well. Johnny Greenwood is no stranger to film soundtrack work, and his strings here are as epic as Yorke's devastating delivery. Next time you're watching the intro to Spectre, mute that shit and put this on.
