One of my fondest memories as a teenager growing up over here in the UK, was the fact that whenever a new US rap artist brought a CD out, at least one person I knew would've bought it, meaning I was always in the loop when it came to the latest music. One CD that I actually went out and bought on the day it released was 50 Cent's Get Rich Or Die Trying. Man, from the moment I heard "In Da Club" as the lead single, I knew that I HAD to get the album when it dropped. From there, stemmed my love for all things Fiddy and G-Unit, and although in recent years his output hasn't been entirely strong, he's still dropped a couple bangers here and there.
This week we were treated to the release of 50's latest mixtape, The Kanan Tape, and along with it a new collaboration with one of the industry's hottest talents, Post Malone. The "White Iverson" star lends his vocal talents for a nice verse over the simplistic Scoop Deville production, showcasing his knack for making that catchy rap-come-singing style. As for 50, well he comes through with a strong verse, with his signature flow coming to the forefront, as he raps about keeping his circle small and being surrounded by people trying to do him dirty.
