With December now in full swing and the cold setting in, the bright sounds of summer give way to the darker, richer sounds of winter. This Friday, December 11th, French producer Geil takes it dark with his newest EP, My Aim, out on Claude Monet’s venerated label SSOH, with a remix of the title track coming from the French duo Melokolektiv.
Geil sets the tone of “My Aim” with a bouncy percussion and a strong beat. Dark, full-bodied synth work provides the perfect backdrop to overlay the wanting, yet brooding, vocals. When the guitar comes in and floats nicely above, bringing everything together, it becomes clear that this is not just another electronic track but something truly special.
