After hearing GoldLink and Anderson .Paak team up last week on "Unique" for G's new album, I realized that one of my pocket favorites was in tune with my hip-hop taste. .Paak not only gave us great covers a few years ago, flexing his vocal usage, but also has given us new reason to believe the kid can rhyme. However, today we blur the lines, as "Am I Wrong" is a strictly R&B track, with too much funk to handle.
Sported in company with Schoolboy Q, you know this one has potential to get weird. Q has a strange style, but still holds dear to his LA roots, an attribute we can clearly hear on the new song. I hate to say it, but this track is very similar to the type of stuff we've been hearing from Bruno Mars. Now, before you jump off of this page due to my mainstream reference, please realize that I'm talking solely about that real funk. The type of music you put on in a convertible on a crisp, sunny day, or the jams you put on when it's late at night and you've got a bit more than just sleeping going on in the bedroom.
Check out "Am I Wrong" below, and tune in for more Anderson .Paak soon, most likely on a larger scale. I'm making a bold 2015 prediction when I say he has potential to blow up in the coming months, but this track is too good to try and defy him.
