Blue Hour grants three idyllic interpretations for 'Remixed 01' EP

Since 2013 Luke Standing has half-quietly produced music under his Blue Hour moniker in a diligent manner. Releasing almost exclusively on his eponymous label, Standing has established a niched sound that's even earned him a special release via Function's Berghain 07 mix on Ostgut Ton. Following his strikingly emotive EP, Introspective, Luke Standing closes 2015 by kickstarting his label's remix series.

Remixed 01 features standout remixes from Answer Code Request, Steffi and Marcelus. The first interpretation comes from MDR staple Answer Code Request, who drives "Motive Axis" to a superb ether with his pulsing technical handles. "Reference 97" gets a heady rework from Tresor resident Marcelus, as he retracts the lustrous effect of Standing's synthesis and focuses on the drum's mesmeric effect.

But it's Steffi who outshines the two other remixers here with her redirection on "Moments". The Dolly label head and Panorama Bar resident does what she knows to do best and transforms the hard, stalling original into a Grade-A groove full of vibrance and warmth. Much deserving of a stand-alone place on the record's b-side, Steffi delivers another lush tune for shadow dancers.
