Over the past year, Anjunadeep have been responsible for a string of polished releases from the likes of Lane 8, Thomas Schwartz, 16 Bit Lolitas and Eli & Fur. Their latest slice of sumptuous house music comes from London based Oliver Smith, aka Meramek, who brings us "Know Me." When reflecting on previous hits such as "Feeling" and "Only You," it's clear that his infectious, bouncy style of house music has now matured into deeper and darker territories.
Dense kicks and crisp hats open up the record, paving the way for a monstrous Jonas Rathsman-esque bass line to take the reigns and career the track straight into the eye of the storm. The infectious vocal reverberates, gently growing in volume until the track is lulled by tropical rainfall, providing a brief moment of respite. The break down is carefully measured, gradually meshing the records layers together as the atmosphere rumbles towards a thunderous eruption of thick sludgy bass and high octane percussion. While his previous releases received widespread acclaim, it's the atmosphere in this record that shows how much he's developing as a producer and, arguably, make it his finest release to date.
