Plastician's newest signee to his Terrorythym imprint is SKULS, a Bay-Area duo with an intriguingly amorphous style of bass music. Their remixes of artists ranging from Flume to Kendrick Lamar to Tommy Kruise have garnered them plenty of attention in the last few years, and now they're stepping out with a record deal and a debut EP, Lost Knowledge.
The EP is proof that SKULS don't need to ride the success of another artist's track; the three tracks here are devastating in the sheer power of their low end, and the flourishes of originality really set them apart from the trap / future-bass herd. Lost Knowledge never feels like party music, it's a bit more serious and intelligent than that. Still, throw it in your next DJ set and it'll rock the house, no question. Be on the lookout for more big things from SKULS soon.
