The Orb has announced new tour dates in support of the duo's latest album, Moonbuilding 2703 AD. After touring the U.S. through September, they'll release a Moonbuilding remix EP on October 2nd. Don't expect a predictable list of remix artists either, based on the first single – a slowly unfurling piece of astral funk courtesy of Teebs.
While Teebs' own tracks usually explore one idea for a few short minutes, here he takes on a 13-minute juggernaut, cutting its length in half, yet still managing to cram in a lot of ideas in six minutes. It's surprising how well his music blends with The Orb's; both "Moonbuilding 2703 AD" and Teebs' remix are entirely human at heart, they're just leaving Earth's atmosphere at a high rate of speed.
