If you follow electro-soul sax master GRiZ on Snapchat, you would know that he has been hard at work after the release of his smash album Say It Loud. Just recently he debuted a live band on the Snapchat discovery story, where Ida Hawk and Orlando Napier laid down vocals for “The Anthem.” In addition, GRiZ teamed up with fellow sax-slayers Big Gigantic to release the groovy Future Funk tune, “Good Times Roll.” In addition he slayed the festival circuit, funked things up with GRiZMAS in July, sold out his Red Rocks show next Friday, and released a dank strand with Native Roots called, well… GRiZ Kush (name may need a little work.)
If that wasn’t enough for the Detroit born producer, GRiZ came out of the wood work today with a melodic track called “Feelin’ High.” It is a melodic orchestration of warm sax tones, radio static, and an ethereal atmosphere that transcends you to another place. It is the kind of track that you put on the record player, lower the lights, spark up, tilt your head back on the couch and watch the fan spin in succession with the melody as your mind drifts away. Haters may hate, but this song reminds you to brush them away, do you, and chase after what makes you happy.
