Kalle Mattson covers Drake's "Hotline Bling" [Premiere]

Based out of Ontario, Kalle Mattson is a Polaris Music Prize-nominated artist who, in his 4 year span, has released both a duo of EPs and full-lengths. The most recent release comes in the form of his Avalanche EP that officially came out last Friday via Home Music Co. Exploring the subtle edge of his sound previously found only on the acoustic driven side of his folksy repertoire, Kalle provides his own interpretation of Drake's "Hotline Bling".

Soft and delicate Kalle Mattson's version of "Hotline Bling" eases along in almost unrecognizable fashion. Surrounding Kalle's personable vocals is a mixture of weightless instrumentals made up of a simplistic acoustic guitar that churns into buoyant, multi-layered electrogaze. While it may be tough to fully compare Kalle's version of "Hotline Bling" to the Drake original because they are so different, they both stand alone in their own right.
