Portland's Keith Kenniff has been composing achingly beautiful instrumental soundscapes as Helios for over a decade, alongside his other side projects.  His guitar, piano, and electronic production form a fluid environment of airy, pastoral sound, much like Bibio's gentler tracks.  Kenniff is now set to release Yume – his first album as Helios since 2012 – on Sept. 11th, through his own Unseen Music label.  "Yume" is taken from the Japanese word for dream, and Helios is perfect daydreaming music.  Stream "Pearls" and the title track below; you deserve a few minutes to zone out.

I received my degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and Virginia is still home. Apart from my yearly pilgrimage to Moogfest and occasional shows in DC, Detroit, and New York, I like to stick to the fringes, with an eye always open toward music that is forward-thinking and unique, whatever the genre.
