Grey Sweatpants are sort of my favorite weirdos of the moment. From pondering important life questions such as "Are Cheetos Really chips?" to highlighting the prevalence of police brutality in "Help Me Please!," the young collective known as Grey Sweatpants know hot to bring intellectually stimulating rhymes onto beyond-catchy beats, and getting us to work our brains and think some rabbit hole inducing questions, even though/because we're a little stoned while we listen to them.
"Northeasternplayalisticlexusmusik" gives an ode to Outkast's first album, and also highlights lead vocalist Chachi Pajamas' love for his high school car (93 Lexus GS 300). With memories of the car cleverly interwoven through the piece, as well as nods to nudity, the track has us clamoring for more and more Grey Sweatpants; a typical side-effect of loving this group.
