Dusky showcases their multiple styles for 'Ordinary World' EP

There are few artists that have done so much for the deep tech revival as London’s very own Duksy. This past week, following their Love Taking Over EP as well as various singles such as “Yoohoo,” Dusky, on their own 17 Steps label, has released their next four-track EP, Ordinary World, a self-proclaimed dive into presenting the different styles of their DJ sets and productions.

“Skin Deep” opens the EP as a deeper, more ambient track with a crisp percussion and catchy vocals, sure to satisfy any house aficionado. Where “Skin Deep” is understated, “Jilted” is anything but subtle, opening with eerie synths and a stabbing lower-end, giving the track an almost marching vibe. Dusky delves deeper for “Parakeet Feet,” a techno gem, complete with a driving beat and a galloping percussion. Dusky closes out the EP by finding themselves in melodic territory for “Squeezer,” where heady bass lines and beautiful synths provide the perfect framework for the wanting vocals of the track. At the end, it becomes clear that Dusky has managed to meld all of their different styles into a pretty solid EP.

This is definitely one that you will not want to miss. Pick up a copy on Beatport today.
