I'm super excited for this premiere today that we have of MIDIval Punditz's "Baanwarey," because we're having the chance to show you something outside of our regular sphere of genres we post, but equally as stunning.
"Baanwarey" originally brought in influences of pop and electronic sounds, bringing a light and fun vibe to stunning, (and I'm assuming) traditional-sounding vocals. The result was like a beautifully warped timeline that blended the sounds of the past and present, and it truly brought to light the vast wonder that is the technology age.
NY-born producer Atropolis flipped this and stripped back the layers, taking back the synths and highlighting on the vocals and keeping the stage on that. By doing so, he still manages to keep it light and fun like the Delhi-based duo, but also manages to make it entirely his own. I haven't been able to stop playing this all day, and neither will you.
