The boys from Audiofly deliver their long-awaited EP, Chiaroscuro, released by Supernature on July 13; their most recent release in 16 months since 2014. The duo has kept busy while spending most of their time in the studio for their second album due early 2017. They've also been on tour, where you might have seen them live at this year’s Movement Festival and also supporting their own Flying Circus tour founded by the two, which has received great support from other mutual artists and fans nation-wide.
The three-track EP invites you into this fusion between light and dark sounds titled Chiaroscuro, meaning the treatment of light and dark in various mediums. "Chiaroscuro" is the title track off the EP, a dark yet solid track that invites you into this void of distant vocals and consistent synth-builds that flow well together as a hypnotic melody for this track. The flipside "Shapes" features Big Bully and is an interesting collaboration of instrumentals with a more similar melody to the first track, but still includes a familiar acid sound with an upbeat tempo to keep those tired dance floors moving. Then comes the instrumental mix, which hits onto atmospheric rhythms and raw beats.
Chiaroscuro is a refreshing new take on what we can expect from the duo, combining their abilities to produce a notable set of tracks to indulge any after hours dance floor enthusiasts. Audiofly will be making their way to Ibiza with a surprise set or two, soundtracking their fair share of dance floors this summer.
