If you've never experienced the mind-boggling psychedelia that is Ott, now is the time to get in the know. The British producer's mix of dub, multi-cultural vocal samples, and otherworldly sonic textures was a longtime staple of Shpongle's label, Twisted Records, before he started his own Ottsonic imprint. It's been four years since his last album, Mir, was released, and now the wait for a follow-up is almost over. There's no title yet, but the album will drop August 11, with a whole slew of tour dates starting right after.
Ott has also given us a first taste of the album, streaming "Harwell Dekatron," which finds him in full-on mad scientist mode, conjuring up a pulsating array of futuristic noises. At first it feels like a slight departure from the style we're used to, but once that vocal pops up around four minutes in, it's clear Ott hasn't abandoned his signature sound.
