Brand new digs from the venerated mau5trap imprint dropped yesterday, an 11-track compilation in their We Are Friends series. This time we have Volume 4 on our plate, featuring a host of new and noted artists that fit the often shadowy vibes that mark the label's sound. From the selection we see Enzo Bennet returning with a string-infused work that calls to far off lands, as well as Wax Motif who spins one of the brighter tracks on the release, "Let Go", thriving on synth flares and sparse vocal calls. Undoubtedly these tried and true hands find company in recent mau5trap additions, two of my favorites being BlackGummy – his track "Lullaby" can't be missed – and No Mana.
