The first solo release of 2015 by Donato Dozzy couldn't be better prepared for smooth sailing by the Italian producer. Having not gained reputation by making the kind of music that will make you wave your hands in the air, he's dedicated a craft with a take on electronic music that continuously serves as a refreshing course for listeners. Intuitive and cradled with a uniqueness that treads in experimentation his releases in both LP and EP formats have gained him loyal followers along the way. His most recent single, "Cassandra", on Claque Musique shows off an easy-going affection proposed for passive listening.
Title track "Cassandra" is a nosedive into techno's deep-end that dismisses any traditional thrusts. Slow to form and – seemingly – going nowhere, the yeasty bloops over the rearing pads create an august experience that helps pass this 7-minute musical treat pleasantly. In addition, Dozzy's "II" track is a robotic vocal-like reverberation that's fun and a bit light-hearted. Donato keeps it simple on this one, and shows the sophistication to be found in it too (loosely referencing da Vinci here).
