As an artist who seemingly burst onto the scene last year with her free flowing, catchy music, Zella Day looks to bring her previous material together while also adding a few new songs to form her debt album KICKER. Out today via Pinetop/Hollywood Records KICKER aims to solidify an already established artist in Zella Day, who seems to be at the beginning of a lustrous career. The latest song to be released off of the album before it went live today was the lively, growing "High" to which we present a remix from the up and coming Toronto producer Kill Them With Colour.
Where "High" keeps to Zella's common theme of relentless high energy throughout, Kill Them With Colour's remix provides a taming alternative. Injecting a plethora of deep bass to bring out the lower end, the mix bounces around with its manipulated vocals, sampling, trap-inspired moments and a playful melodic instrumental just before it fades out. Showcasing the ability to keep pace while completely changing around the style of the original, Kill Them With Colour's remix of "High" stands well on its own, packing its own punch.
