Los Angeles-based artists Gavin Turek and Jennifer Lee, a.k.a. Tokimonsta, have been working together for a long time. Turek's unmistakable vocals have graced many a Tokimonsta track, and now they've banded together for a full seven-track EP, You're Invited, due out in July through Lee's label, Young Art.
With this news comes a Tokimonsta remix of "Frontline," a refreshingly retro-minded disco track that Turek released recently on IHC 1NFINITY. Lee modernizes the track a bit, slowing things down and upgrading the synths and drums to a more forceful, futuristic level. Turek is a little more old-school than Lee in general, so it will be interesting to see how they influence each other on the You're Invited EP.
The first single, "Hemisphere," will drop early in July, with the full release coming July 31st. Keep an eye out for tour dates as we get closer to the EP release.
