Get ready for a monster of a festival as Sasquatch takes The Gorge

The Gorge is one of America’s most iconic venues. With a deep canyon backdrop, sunsets that fall behind  the main stage and terrace seating for chilling out without losing a great view and Sasquatch Music Festival looks about ready to welcome the crowd back for the 14th annual festival this memorial day weekend. This year welcomes some huge names to the lineup such as Lana Del Rey, Modest Mouse, Of Monsters and Men, Chromeo and SBTRKT and some local talent from surrounding Seattle and Portland

Friday starts the festival off as a  day of conflicts. Seattle’s Slow Bird have a deep, laid back sound that grows in energy which would be a great way to start off the festival to build anticipation but their set is interrupted by The New Pornographers at the main stage which also shares their time slot with Canada’s Mother Mother. The conflicts continue into the evening with AlunaGeorge, Of Monsters and Men and Little Dragon all playing in the times between 9:00 to 11:00.

LA’s Hunter Hunted hits the Bigfoot stage with feel good, high energy chill rhythm centric alt pop early Saturday afternoon. Soon to release their debut album, the Bigfoot Stage will be a great opportunity to catch the duo that is gaining popularity. Twenty One Pilots is definitely not a show to miss. Having released their second album Blurryface this week, they’re bound to play some of their new material which is incredible in both energy and scope

While ODESZA closes things off at the El Chupacabra stage, Sasquatch has a wide range of shows to finish off Saturday night. Spoon takes the last spot but Modest Mouse will close out the Main stage. It’s hard to imagine a better venue to catch Modest Mouse than sprawling out under the stars on one of the grassy terraces of the main stage.

Said The Whale which I’ve had the chance to see a few times, opens things up Sunday up at the Big Foot Stage. For anyone down at the grounds for the first show of the day, they won’t be disappointed. Sunday marks a great day for discovering new bands. A rapid fire of 1 hour sets across 5 stages will keep the afternoon fresh and busy.  Sunday ends on a powerful note with Lana Del Rey hitting the main stage and MADEON and SBTRK finishing off the night
