I don't really post mashups because they really aren't my favorite things, but if done right it can sound quite nice. Today I'm sharing one from the ever consistent mashup artist DJ AA, who takes the good vibes from July Child & JackLNDN and turns it into a the perfect concoction. It's also a positive note when the artist you mash up gets on board to fully support the outcome. July Child gave DJ AA the opportunity to create something from the acapella of their latest cover of "Power Trip" and voila this is the result!
July Child remarks, "We always loved the hook from J. Cole and Miguel's 'Power Trip' so we felt inspired to take it and turn it into something completely different like with all our covers and remixes; the vocal chops and the refrain from The Pussycat Dolls' 'Don't Cha' taking on a key role in this transformation. The flavour of our cover gets taken in an even more summery direction with DJ AA's bootleg mashup of 'Power Trip' and JackLNDN's 'Aeterna'. We're so pleased with this! We actually flew out to Oman recently to play a huge show on the beach alongside DJ AA which was an incredible experience. It was great meeting him and other local people that were fans of our music. We hope to play out there again!"
