Major Lazer teams up with Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley on "Powerful

Diplo's dancehall alter ego Major Lazer reemerged earlier this year with two stylistically different tracks that have already become prevalent in various music spheres. "Lean On" addresses a sort of moombahton "lite" ear, while the harder "Roll The Bass" looks to the harder electro bounce we associate with tracks like "Pon De Floor." Today we've got a glimpse of what's next and it's just as different as the latter: a collaboration with pop songstress Ellie Goulding and reggae singer and Rastaman Tarrus Riley, all ahead of Major Lazer's The Mission's album release on June 1st 2015.

Taking another totally different turn, the single is entitled "Powerful" and seeks to be just that. A surprising turn to the poppier side of things for Major Lazer, a slight remnant of reggae's soul along with two moving voices helps propel this emotional track along.
