With their sophomore album release approaching fast, San Fermin has recruited The Colourist for a bright, synth-driven remix of the band's latest single "Emily." Where the original song treads lightly to start, with vocalist Allen Tate singing in his signature baritone over some drums and string notes, The Colourist’s remix comes in hot with some St. Lucia-esque synth vibes, taking the song from the street’s of San Fermin’s native Brooklyn to somewhere a bit warmer and more tropical. The synth riffs’ ebullience doesn’t quite match that of Charlene Kaye’s backing voice, which has been stripped from the track. The Colourist makes up for it with new charming and infectious melodies sown throughout with a variety of different brass instruments (San Fermin’s favorites) and synthesizers. The result is a bright, bubbly slice of indie pop-rock that will have fans craving for more.
San Fermin's new album Jackrabbit comes out on April 21, 2015 on Downtown Records.
