Make the Girl Dance is a French production duo made up of Greg Kozo and Pierre Mathieu. The guys will soon follow up the release of their 2011 debut album Everything Is Gonna Be Ok In The End, whose success can be seen across multiple media from YouTube video play count to its feature in multiple commercials for major brands and appearances in TV shows like Gossip Girl. Extraball will be out via Ultra Records on May 4th, featuring 11 tracks of quirky electronica. With the first track entitled "Ye Ye (Ooh La La)" already out, the guys continue down the road to release with an interesting visual pairing with the single. "Ye Ye (Ooh La La)" is uniquely French, and with the addition of Ornette's vocals and simple guitar riffs, becomes a lens into 60's surf rock. The video has a simple, retro point of view as well, reminding us of how enjoyable a simple storyline can be. It harkens back to the album's title, while we watch a ball bounce from one member of Make the Girl Dance on a Malibu pier to the other in the middle of New York City. It reminds us of the unifying nature of music, and the way communication can make our world seem smaller than it really is. Check it out below.
