Brainfeeder's overseas ambassador, Lapalux, will drop a new album, Lustmore, on April 7th. The British producer, known for his digitally warped versions of R&B and hip-hop, has already shared "Closure" and "Don't Mean a Thing," and now he's given us an equally smooth and sultry track, "Puzzle," featuring the ever-reliable vocals of Andreya Triana. This collaboration comes not long after Lapalux, born Stuart Howard, remixed Triana's track "The Best is Yet to Come."
Starting with a Teebs-esque afternoon glow, "Puzzle" blossoms into a jazzy, ambling hip-hop track, with Triana's seductive vocal performance right up there among her best work. Her voice is unmistakable for its combination of time-tested wisdom and ethereal sensuality, and is a perfect fit for Lapalux's hypnotic, laid-back production style.
