Point Point is a collaborative project that was founded in 2012 by four Parisian producers: Aazar, Devoted to God, L'homme aux 4 lettres, and Nömak. The duplication of words in their title Point Point was inspired by an excessively long and complex term ‘contrastive focus reduplication.’ In other words, they aim to redefine the meaning of future music that will set them apart from the pack. Filet Mignon Vol. I and II have showcased tremendous production diversity and have been carefully selected to better encompass the depth of sound ‘future’ can achieve.
As they have begun their third year of musical presence, the Point Point family announced that they have successfully launched their new label to define the brotherhood they have grown called Record Record. Better yet, they have released a sneak track of their next collection, Filet Mignon Vol. III by young Parisian talent Flybear, whose music has been recently noted on The Sound You Need and The Music Ninja. Flybear’s “Quinoa West” begins with a soothing jazz piano introduction and continues through energizing arpeggios that endlessly scale up and down. There’s a lightweight quality to it that can be used to imagine a delightfully bright morning with a cup of coffee and maybe strange shuffling of the feet. When it picks up, it’ll bring a smile to your lips.
Record Record is throwing a release party for Filet Mignon Vol. III on Saturday, April 11th in Paris after the official drop date on March 31st. It’s going to be held at the La Machine du Moulin Rouge and San Holo, Alesia, and Point Point will be there. San Holo’s been picked up by Skrillex’s Nest HQ, recently dropping “We Rise” with their base and having his track “Hiding” on the second volume of Filet Mignon. Alesia’s familiarized by his work with DJ Snake on “Bird Machine”, coming out with hard-hitting acid-like synthetics like “HT”, while Point Point is, well, ‘contrastive focus reduplication’. Check out Flybear’s track below.
