I think as I delve further and further in my twenties, I've been able to figure out that some people just love to complain, and because I live in the world of music, certain around me seem to be complaining about music, no mater the level of creativity. For those people, it's not the actual music that matters, because even the best and brightest cannot save them from their dissatisfaction, they just want to complain.
What's weird is that if you look around, even a little bit, some incredible, artistic things are happening, like at the amazing record label Enchufada, which is run by Buraka Som Sistema member Branko. The label has collectively been one of the best in 'get down and dirty' dance music, and the team has cultivated the best of global dance music.
This time around, Castro is back at the label with the stunning The Subtle Approach, and indeed, the producer's music hits in a subtle manner, easing into the music and blending the tropical influences with ease. Don't let that fool you, these songs could easily find themselves in the next Diplo or Major Lazer mix.
