Cari Fletcher now publicly known as Fletcher has been hard at work since she left the X Factor stage 4 years ago, where she made it to the final 9 as 1/4 of the girl group Lakoda Rayne. Fletcher describes the X Factor experience as eye opening and educational. She initially was one of the 120 out of 28,000 who would get to perform in front of the celebrity judge panel consisting of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Sherzinger, and LA Reid. She was able to meet all sorts of aspiring artists and get a taste of the life of a real recording artist. The experience made her even more resolute to the idea of chasing her dream.
Fletcher describes her sound as hard to categorize with influences from several different genres of music and artists, which she feels to be common amongst the new generation of artists sprouting up in the industry, yet at the same time refreshing. In addition to working towards the release of her debut EP, she is currently a student at the Clive Davis Institute of Record Music in New York's Tisch School of the Arts.
