Orkidea returns for the “Revolution Industrielle”

SoundCloud bios can be self-serving write-ups, listing off an artist's accomplishments each emphatically one by one. But there are times when if you don't know an artist well, you can see into their history, their personality and the reasons behind their music. The latter is such a case with Finnish producer Orkidea: a pioneer in trance music, he coordinated illegal raves in the late 90s, and somehow found his music opening for Sasha and Paul Oakenfold. And since unifying people under music in party coordinating and as a producer, Orkidea continues to make music, with his latest release out this week via the longstanding Black Hole Recordings. "Revolution Industrielle" isn't a 3-minute long single, it's a 9-minute, 7-second long masterpiece. It's a trance track that brings the genre's origins into focus, moving in a classically symphonic-like movement, through various emotional elements. Take a listen for yourself below.
