A name synonymous with the swinging 70s, The Doobie Brothers marked a generation of listeners with classic tracks, such as "Listen To The Music" and "China Grove". Over the years, the original 5-man outfit from California has transformed as members have come and gone, but their music lives on as the band continues to make appearances across the U.S.. Today, one of their biggest hits, "Long Train Running", falls into the capable hands of Brighton-based producer Antenna Happy. Born Nathan Pope, his remix credits include nods to The Doors and Fleetwood Mac, which find happy company beside this Doobie Brothers remake.
Rolling on through modded, reverberating vocals, the remix lives off a thrumming, funky bass beat and a twangy guitar melody that induces flashbacks to the original. Antenna Happy always knows how to please, and this piece breathes new life into a cherished track of yesteryear. Enjoy this edit while we wait for his forthcoming 12", "Dream 2C", out April 13th on Tenth Circle.
