Behind the scenes, male R&B vocalist J Warner is a songwriter for numerous talents, including Tinie Tempah, Sasha Keable and JLS. Now moving back into the limelight with his solo material, J has revealed the first track from his forthcoming debut EP Est. 1990, due for release next month. "Chill Chase" features UK chart topper Wretch 32 and eases us in with an ethereal introduction.
The song's title speaks volumes on it's sensitive and evocative subject matter. Warner talks us through a heart-wrenching domestic violence case: "I fall deep, the memories chase my mind." With an undeniably intelligent structure, the intense drum beat mimics the profound lyricism from Warner and Wretch, highlighting the seriousness of its subject matter.
