Late last year conversations were ablaze with talks about Baltimore and whether or not there was really a payphone at that Best Buy. Now that conversations have hushed on Serial and crime drama The Wire has since long ended, its time to talk about something Baltimore is also great at producing and that is really good rock bands. We can thank Baltimore for the salacious indie rock duo Beach House, doom/hair metal band Iron Man and most recently the blend of indie and surf rock DRGN King.

In DRGN King’s sophomore LP Baltimore Crush the group focuses on their story of growing up in Baltimore and the underground scene they learned it all from. Their songs resonate tales of teenage angst, disenfranchised kids half stoned and plagued with an existential crusade to find their place in the world. The whole album is gritty and poetic craft of tales from their past, present and future. You can practically smell the stale beer soaked venue floors and cigarette tinged hair in every chord progression.

Today EARMILK has the pleasure of premiering the music video for Baltimore Crush single “Undertow.” This song is oozing with notes of surf-rock, driving bass lines and raw vocals that are unapologetic and ask for no sympathy. Black and white scenes of the band playing in an empty concert venue are paired with scenes of bodies writhing about like they are under the hypnosis of the DRGN King’s sultry melodies. This group is sure to be another Baltimore staple and we recommend you get familiar now.

In conjunction with the release of this music the band is heading out for a tour across the US with stops practically every day. While this band is permeating with potential they still need you support to help them get on the road and get a van. Maybe you can spare a dime bag and chunk some change their way here. Regardless catch this act on the road, you won’t be disappointed.
