Last year, Alex Adair captivated the scene with his entrancing track "Make Me Feel Better", a release that foretold a promising career for the young British producer. Not but a few months later, two tracks made this expectation a reality when his remixes of fellow UK artists Jessie Ware and Ed Sheeran garnered millions of plays on SoundCloud alone. Going back to the track that brought Adair into the spotlight, we've only seen one remix: that by the French producer Klingande, which, like the original, leveraged sunny sounds from the southern hemisphere.
Departing from this trajectory, London-based producer Russ Chimes, who released Sula on his own Uno Mas label last year and continues the bimonthly RC Mix series, steps in with a decidedly different sound. His rendition takes "Make Me Feel Better" down a few notches, with transient synth pulses and minimal drumwork that make the track feel so much better for the deep, dark places he spins. However, don't be fooled, as a lightness still pervades Chimes' version that will keep you swaying till the early morning light.
Pre-order Alex Adair's official "Make Me Feel Better" release for March 1st off Virgin EMI and look for other remixes by Illyus & Barrientos, S.P.Y., and Don Diablo.
