There's no need to be "Looking For Reasons" to peep SkyBlew's latest track

If there's one argument that will never end amongst hip hop heads young and old it is this: what ye often argue about was the genre's greatest year. Was it 1988 with the release of classics like N.W.A.'s Straight Outta Compton and Public Enemy's It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back?  Was it 1993 with the the raw and rugged, martial arts inspired Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) by the Wu Tang Clan and the jazz rap smash hit Midnight Marauders from A Tribe Called Quest? While these moments in time are special to many heads, let's not forget the importance of another year: 1974.

Besides getting the sample heavy experience that was Gil Scott-Heron's The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, two of hip hop's most enigmatic producers were born that year: J Dilla and Nujabes. While there have been a myriad of projects dedicated to the late Detroit man behind the MPC, the Japanese producer often goes unappreciated. Thankfully SkyBlew is here to educate the masses and make sure that the guy responsible for making us addicted to Samurai Champloo's soundtrack doesn't get lost in the thick of things. With the release of his highly anticipated Jazz for Autumn Kismet, the Alabama based rhymer blesses us with a smooth piece of jazz hop that pays homage to Nujabes with "Looking For Reasons." Produced by Scottie Royal, the track plays piano riffs that'll stick in your head for days on end as Sky speaks on his dreams and ills of twerking. Head on over to Skyblew's Bandcamp page to cop the project today.
