After their meteoric rise to rap royalty status, you'd think Killer Mike and El-P might kick back and enjoy the success, but they're doing the complete opposite; every week there's a new story in the news about Run the Jewels, quite possibly the hardest workers (EL-P especially) in show business. They're already working on RTJ3. They're making Meow the Jewels, a cat-themed album parody, with the proceeds going to charity. They're also constantly touring, helping teenage girls with their problems, and inspiring Marvel comic book art, among many, many other things.
Then there's music videos, with RTJ2 highlight "Lie, Cheat, Steal" being the album's third track to get visuals. The duo raps in front of a wall adorned with Run the Jewels graffiti, their environment flashing with animated comic book art and trippy running textures. The presidential masks they don and the lyrics crawling across the screen only emphasize their fearless anti-corruption tirade.
