Kaytranada and Vic Mensa team up for "Drive Me Crazy", which has us going mad

Canada is a melting pot of musical talent, across all kind of genres. Artists such as Drake, The Weeknd and PARTYNEXTDOOR have all spawned from this special country, and helped raise the profile of the talent over that side of the border. However one artist that definitely deserves recognition for igniting a scene, is the incredibly talented Kaytranada. The Montreal native, who's impressive array of productions have created a special kind of sound that only a few can match, has been ever present on the music scene the past couple of years, releasing some truly dope tracks that have lit up many a club.

One thing Kaytranada has done with supreme ease, is bridge the gap between electronic & rap music. Having dropped a collab last summer with Chicago's Vic Mensa entitled "Wimmie Nah", Kaytra let people know that his production game was multi sided. With a string of production credits on various hip hop projects, including the brilliant album from Marvel Alexander Don't Die Yet, the Canadian beat wizard is back at it again with a brand new cut taken from his highly anticipated debut album on XL Recordings. "Drive Me Crazy" see's the Kaytranada/Vic Mensa partnership come to fruition once again, as the duo deliver another slice of modern hip hop gold. The backdrop laid by 'Nada features deep 808 kicks, dreamy synth chords and tough percussion hits, keeping to the unique sound the he has created himself. Mensa, one of Chicago's hottest prospects alongside his homie Chance The Rapper, steps onto the track with an assured swagger that oozes confidence, with his flow skipping across the beat with ease, whilst adding in a really catchy hook.

If the rest of Kaytranada's major label debut is anything like "Drive Me Crazy", then the Canadian beatsmith could easily have an 'album of the year' contender on his hands. Perhaps we could even have a Kaytra/Mensa EP on the cards? You can stream the joint below, and be sure to keep your eyes and ears locked onto EARMILK for any news on music from both of these artists!
