I've had a love affair with The Prodigy since I wore men's jeans, tube tops and neon rubber bracelets, as have most little raver tykes in their late teens. Maybe it's relating to their anger, despite that they've moved seamlessly through the music industry, or maybe it's just that each cut from their albums take you on a ride that you're never sure if you'll come back from.
Poised to do it again on upcoming LP The Day Is My Enemy, they chose London based DJ Zinc to do the official remix of their first release "Nasty," that had an accompanying music video. Touted as "the most British album you'll hear this year," it makes sense that they'd choose a fellow UK'er to re-work this and he fired it with as much precision as the initial shot. Because everything that the "Godfathers of Rave" write is a loaded gun, and this time around Zinc was the perfect ammo.
