Mura Masa, a young talent out of the UK, is a member of LA’s Soulection and Berlin’s Jakarta Records. He is turning heads on a growing scale, and this promising future landed him on our Top 30 Producers To Watch in 2015 list.
For his newest release, he's teamed up with Yung Bae, a Portland-based producer, who is building a name of his own, gathering over 18K followers in his first year. Don’t let the slovenly, good-humored titles of the 2-track collaboration fool you though, this is a thoroughly impressive offering. I always like to stress the importance of progression in a track, and this is illustrated nicely here. The duo take you on a fun ride with warped vocal samples and sparkly synths, underpinned by a modern jazzy/soulful groove. The lead track is absolutely titillating—I hope my loins aren’t the only ones that are tingling. The second track embarks on a fanciful adventure, in the likes of Wave Racer's tropical 8-bit style.
