Paris-based electronic artist Allure (aka Lorris Piasco) performs a bit of synth magic on his new Fantasy EP. The EP follows in the footsteps of single "Why," a silky smooth yet funk pop song that includes falsetto vocals and reflects his influences (Michael Jackson, Daft Punk and Justice to name a few). He builds on "Why" with his new EP by including similar electronic-pop productions that are hard to resist and that are becoming increasingly popular with the rise of A.G. Cook and PC Music.
The release begins the bouncy, playful title-track, which perfectly embodies its name. "Why" moves a bit closer to realism with a hint of heartbreak. "Aurora" brings the EP right back into fun dance-pop territory before Allure closes things out with more shimmering synth magic on "Prayer." The whole EP displays a producer on top of his game and is definitely worth a listen (or six). I
