Towards the end of the year we posted the video for “Alive” from the Dallas producer Blue, The Misfit. Blue has produced tracks in the past for notable acts like Schoolboy Q, Mac Miller, and Kendrick Lamar. He has an eclectic minimal sound, pairing trap percussion with light sweeping melodies. For his latest tune he steps up to the plate to remix fellow Dallas native Sarah Jaffe’s single “Revelation.” Jaffe has been receiving praise in the indie-circuit and from bigger outlets like Rolling Stone. Her sound is a blend of Electro-Pop, Singer-Songwriter, with notes of indie-rock.
Blue takes the original single “Revelation,” and speeds it up and adds his hip-hop sensibility and trap prowess to give the first version a beautiful urban grit. Keep both of these artists on your radar for 2015 because they will be making moves whether you are watching or not.
