A friend brought Charles The First (aka Charles Ingalls) to my attention a hot-minute back, and I've been watching each of his releases and keeping a close eye on the way his music has progressed over the last year or so. His most recent release comes off of a compilation from the Texas label SVNSET WAVES in the form of "The Summit".
This track grabbed my attention with its intensity and mastering. Down to the gentlest details, he has produced a well-rounded instrumental track that shows off the artistic growth this guy has found since he began his journey as CTF. Each section of the song draws you organically into the composition, involving you in every hit of the bass and each twist of the vocal distortions.
I have a feeling that Ingalls has rounded a corner and that we can expect him to continue gracing our ears with his intriguing productions. Download "The Summit" and the rest of the compilation from SVNSET WAVES here or give the track a spin below.
