They say music is the best medicine and that's a truth that will be forever told. When this joint popped up on my commute to work this morning, it was an instant lift of life, joy, and overall gratitude. The track "Divine Sorrow" was originally co-written last Winter by Wyclef Jean and Avicii, and later distributed by Bono's (RED) initiative that raises funds to fight AIDS. Let's just say there's nothing better than music for a good cause. Now the fun loving South African duo Goldfish have turned the single it into a beautiful piano driven rendition. What amazes me is that is has barely been picked up and i'm hoping that changes.
Dominic Peters, one half of the duo, remarks that they intended to make an emotional interpretation of the song, "something that did justice to the lyrics and vocals. Even though it has a 4/4 kick, it's beyond just a dance track." And they did just that. Give it a spin and kick off your Tunesday feeling grateful that such beautiful music can come freely into your life and give back so much without asking for anything in return. Except maybe that you go download the track here, all proceeds go towards RED! The world needs more of that. Enjoy!
