DTWEEZER shows us the money with “Young Mulla” [Premiere]

Today, it is my pleasure to premiere “Young Mulla,” the second track off DTWEEZER’s debut 3some EP. DTWEEZER (formerly known as DTWICE DE BEL AIR) hails from France’s thriving music scene, and is a part of Cosomnostro’s quality roster. He holds a significant string of remixes, but with this debut EP, he is demonstrating that he is capable of so much more.

In “Young Mulla,” DTWEEZER implores massive, climactic buildups, piercing stabs, and even makes me enjoy water droplets again. However, the most striking feat is his unprecedented utilization of coin dropping and spinning. I repeat, DTWEEZER took a sample of coins, and turned it into the most absurd, yet addicting sound I’ve hear in quite some time. It takes me back to Hudson Mohawke’s earlier days with “Cbat.” Although the term “innovative” tends to be carelessly tossed around, here is a tune that rightfully warrants such praise.
