I'm the hip hop editor here on our site, but I love hearing lines of criss cross within genres, which might be why I've been following Stephane 1993 like a hawk. The Australian has recently released his newest track titled "New Whip," that's an absolute banger.
With ghetto house roots taken to a new dimension, Stephane 1993 combines the swag of hip hop with booming 4×4 downbeats to create a track that will be heard at parties across cities for its ability to link both dance and hip hop together. There will always be strict traditionalists of both genres who may fail to recognize that this Australian producer has created some serious hits, but innovation has always been much more interesting.
