Out of all of the rappers to come into prominence in the 'golden age' of New York's hip-hop scene, Ghostface Killah remains to this day one of the most consistent. Releasing an astounding 10 albums since his seminal debut Iron Man back in 1996, Ghostface doesn't seem to be losing any steam soon as he has recently announced two new projects for the next quarter. One is a collaboration LP with rising jazz stars BadBadGood called Sour Soul, and the other is his 11th solo album entitled 36 Seasons that is set to be released on December 3rd through Tommy Boy Records.
The third single off of 36 Seasons is titled "Double Cross" and has Ghost connecting with fellow New York legend AZ. The track plays like a classic boom-bap cut, with Ghostface laying down the album's revenge narrative in his trademark style flowing eloquently over the jazzy instrumental. Ghost plays the role as the album's protagonist who gets wrongly arrested after being setup by an associate, and AZ finishes the track off strong while airing out his own frustrations with the justice system.
