Although I believe in not creating genres out of thin air (like Future _______), I do enjoy the recent trend of music that can only be described by saying it's "retro-future". What I mean by this is that the music retains modern production levels, but embraces the thoughts of our former generation's perspective on the future. Before I confuse you, take a listen to Birdee's newest joint, titled "Tornera' il Sole".
If you're fond of the music that 2012-2013 star Madeon has made, then this has your name all over it. "Tornera' il sole" means "the sun will come back" in Italian: as a song title, it sums up the life and music philosophy of Birdee. He's an italian born, London influenced, LA based producer who's positive energy and funky style have gotten him where he is today: comfortably working his way up in the game. With support from Laidback Luke to Congorock, a deal with Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried Records, single releases on Nurvous Records and endless support from BBC Radio 1 to Triple J, it's hard to determine the magnitude of just how potentially big he could be.
