With their debut EP Bashful Creatures due out on November 17th, Hippo Campus are looking to reflect their youthful spirit into their energetic indie pop. Based out of Woodbury, Minnesota Hippo Campus are a four piece just on the edge of the radar, navigating their way towards the center. Already having stirred up a good deal of hype behind their infectious single "Little Grace", the midwesterners provide us with "Sophie So".
Picking up right where "Little Grace" left off "Sophie So" doesn't lose a beat, showcasing a subtle growing song. Focused around the diverse qualities in the vocals, "Sophie So" uses its instrumentation to provide support where even with the lead guitar venturing throughout the song every element works together to set up the changing vocals. Of the song the band had this to say: "Sophie so is a frenzy of organized chaos centered around Heterochromia and nihilism."
